700 Expected for 3rd Annual Hot COCO 5K!

Cheshire, CT: The 3rd Annual Hot COCO 5K and Kids Fun Run takes place Saturday, November 19, at 10:00 a.m. This rolling course, part on the paved Linear Trail, starts and finishes at Cheshire ’s Norton School . The race benefits Abilities Without Boundaries, formerly known as Cheshire Occupational & Career Opportunities, Inc. ( COCO ).
Organizers are expecting a record crowd of 700 participants for the Hot COCO 5K. After running, everyone is invited to enjoy a post race party featuring entertainment, food, beverages, children’s activities and the awards ceremony. Live music will be provided, courtesy of the band Guy Malone. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three overall male and female 5K finishers and the first male and female finisher over 40. Awards will also be given to top age-group finishers and ribbons will be given to all those completing the Kids Fun Run. Technical running shirts to the first 500 pre-registered 5K runners also B Tag timing, the state-of-the-art timing system will be used at the race. Hot cocoa will be provided!
“Last year’s race was a huge success. We had more than 600 participants. It’s fun for the entire family, whether running, walking or cheering on the participants. We anticipate having a record crowd this year” states the President of Abilities Without Boundaries’ Board of Directors, Michael Lenkowski. “Our goal is to have a fun and exciting event, and also give back to a worthy cause”.

Abilities Without Boundaries provides opportunities in the community through employment and social experiences for people with developmental disabilities.
